Dr. Panna Barai has been a pillar in Northwest Indiana for many years – both as a dedicated physician as well as a respected leader in the local Indian American community.
She has practiced her specialty in Northwest Indiana for over 30 years, fulfilling her lifelong dream of serving the healthcare needs for women with her medical expertise, strength, and compassion. She has also served in professional leadership positions at the Methodist Hospitals: as the chairperson of the Quality Care Committee for the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department; Chairperson of Medical Education; President of the Medical Staff; and a member of the Board of Directors. She continues to contribute her time and expertise as a member of the Board of Directors of the Foundation Board of the Methodist Hospitals.
Bridging the gap between her professional, cultural, and social commitment, Dr. Panna Barai has also served as President of the Indian Medical Association of Northwest Indiana, as well as served on the Board of Directors of this esteemed organization. She has also served as President of Indian American Cultural Center for seven years.
